After several years of cancelling the event due to COVID-19, Chic Time in the ‘Tick 2024 returned to
the Manotick Curling Rink on Friday May 10, 2024 with an Enchanted Garden theme. Chic Time in
the ‘Tick has been a major MCPRA fundraising event in support of local recreation / environmental
initiatives. Chic Time 2024 raised over $25,000 for the MCPRA’s Water Access Improvements (WAI)
project that looks to improve public access to the Rideau River for local residents and visitors. The
success of the Mahogany Dock project led the MCPRA Board to initiate another capital project that
will lead to improvements to several existing Rideau River public access locations within and close
to Manotick.

The 2024 organizing committee was led by MCPRA Board members Darlene Donnelly and included
the following Committee members: Alexa Ives, Wendy Eberwein, Sue Hale, Sue Kennedy, Tara
Lanouette, Susan Goodwin, Tara Adlington, and Teri Croucher.

Over 300 women joined the MCPRA volunteers for a magical evening at Chic Time in the ‘Tick’s 2024
Enchanted Garden Gala! The event included stunning decorations, a buffet dinner, amazing live / silent auction items and a night of dancing!

MCPRA volunteers will be preparing for the Chic Time in the ‘Tick 2025 gala soon!
